I've been developing software for computers since before Windows was invented. My first programs were in assembly language for the 8080, the 6502 and the 6809. I won't list the languages I'm familiar with, because you'd get bored, but currently I write Windows applications using Delphi (for my older Win32 apps), and either C# or Oxygene (by RemObjects) for my new projects. I also develop for PIC and ARM microcontrollers (C for the PIC, and the C-like language used by Arduino). I also spent several years doing software testing.
Where did I say it was a matter of "copying and pasting a 'bleep' into the phones code structure? I didn't!! Those are your words, not mine. You are arguing with yourself, not with me!
Of course the "very specific code" would have to be written, and it would have to be tested. You see? We both agree. There will be a cost associated with it (both money and time), of course, but as I said, it's a one-off cost, not a recurring one like an additional hardware component would be.
