New messaging app battery usage

Can other people please check the battery usage on the new messaging app? It was fine over the weekend with the new version with skype, but ever since the update this week, my phone is doing INSANE amounts of battery usage. According to battery saver, it's 58% of my battery in the last 24 hours. I had put it on my wireless charger while I did some work in the back and come back to find my battery from 80% down to 37% in the matter of 2 hours(aka, my wireless charger can't even keep up with the drain!!!) and the phone insanely hot. I've shut off my phone to let it cool down and will plug into a direct charger.

Yeah, this thing is a battery killer. I didn't have the same issue with the preview app interestingly enough, but I had uninstalled it about a week before the changes made their way into the real Messaging app.

On my 830 it will go from 100% to critical warnings in like 4 hours without me even touching it.
