Hello,

Do not use WDRT to roll back to 8.1 from win10 mobile you may end up with a bricked phone.

Use Nokia Software Updater for Retail: <suspect link removed>

ehm... man, WARNING is a too much big word. In forum about 90% users used WDRT successfuly (me too on an old 520 still marked Nokia, not Microsoft) because Nokia tool couldn't recognize the phone
It should be more correct writing "try also Nokia repair tool"

this is the same kind of thread as when people get a defective phone and then scream from the rooftops not to get it

Never had as issue with WDRT...and I've used it often.

There's always going to be a (small) percentage of users that do have a problem, though, and sounds like you were one.

Have you reported it to MS?

Good luck.....

WDRT has been flawless for me. Reading the forums many of the problems encountered using the tool appear to be from impatience (restarting phone when screen is black instead of waiting for updates to complete) and unplugging the device.

As stated above, it's an option.
