Mic not work on 10581 for my 930

My mic only works when making phone calls. It can't be used by Cortana or any apps with sound recording (e.g WhatsApp, sound recorder). So I don't think it is a hardware issue, this problem occurs after upgrade to 10581. Soft reset didn't help...

I have the same. I'm about to downgrade to 8.1 to see if it comes back, then I'm probably going to just sell it since the 950's are coming.

Back up your settings and try a hard reset.

Hmm Cortana does not work??? Did you have issue with second mic while on windows 8.1 like you were able to talk with speaker phone during calls ???

If it did have that problem please do reply here. Becaus mine has that issue and if Cortana too dsnt work on windows 10 I want to give mine for repair as mine is still under warranty

I have this issue also, on my 925. I've had this issue since the last few build, a hard reset didn't help me. Initially I thought it might be a firmware issue, however, when I rolled back to 8.1 it still didn't work, so I'm not sure what's going on.

Not yet, probably in a few hours. Had to prep a temporary phone.

So, great news for me at least. Both mics on the back of the phone appear to work just fine with video now in 8.1. I started recording and spoke into both sides and it sounded like they were in stereo as they should be.

I was planning on upgrading to the next build on my 930. I guess I'll have to drop that plan :/ . My phone already got the issue of secondary mic. Don't want to damage the remain in mics too :|.

Are you saying that hey Cortana is not working? Did you go into settings extras and find hey Cortana and enable it and train. ? I had to hard reset and it tokk a long time for everything including hey cortana to appear and it was an effort to get hey Cortana trained.on my ATT L 1520.

Hey Cortana wouldn't train for me, but I didn't worry about that honestly. Has anyone checked to see if the mics are back in 10586? I'll maybe upgrade straight from 8.1 tonight to test.

No mics back in build 10586. With the headphones in it works fine.

Had the same problem on my Lumia 930, except that the mic did work in Cortana. Tried resetting millions of times, nothing helped. As I really need sound when filming, I unfortunately rolled back to 8.1 yesterday

920 user here. Speech input doesn't work in 10586.11. Bummer.

930 user with same problem - this weekend was my first attempt with W10.

I also had the mic problem with 8.1 - recording in mono and no mic for handsfree. Itching for a new phone, bored of the 930 now. Shall get it repaired when i sort something else and sell it on. If this is the way MS treats 'flagships', the 950XL has just dropped off my radar.
