How are you downloading it?

I would be cautious if I were you. There hasn't been official confirmation that the 950 and 950 xl are in the insiders program yet. It is supposed to be this week, but without official word you're running the risk that it is showing up as a bug and could royally screw things up.

As windows central says it is available, and Microsoft said it would be available to the 950/XL today, then I would assume it is a valid update.

Do let us know! Also tell what steps you take, if any, before and after the update.

Also, to the Mod that moved this, I believe it should be in the 950XL sub-forum, as it's specific to the 950XL getting the update.

Installed on XL. No special precautions. Everything works as it should, I do not see any differences.
Unfortunately no double tap but got Outlook update with linked inboxes

I've downloaded Windows Insider and have it set to "Insider Fast" and it restarts my phone. When it searches for updates it says my phone is up to date, but I am not on 10586.29 I'm on 10586.00. Am I missing a step?

I believe MS uses multiple servers to host builds. It may not be on your closest server yet. Are you in the US? Outside of US may not have it yet.

Downloading/Installing now on my 950xl...fingers crossed.
Will do Hard reset and not import backup...fresh update, fresh phone, no issues������

That's not the case. I'm in Poland and got it ~2 hours ago.

Chris. I do recommend installing it over existing without hard reset. I see absolutely no issues doing so.

My 950 XL still randomly reboots if I try to connect to a 5 GHz WIFI network. Solid as a rock on a 2.4 GHz WIFI network.
Doesn't look like the WIFI problem has been addressed.

There's a couple of threads on this topic. Seems to be an app issue but only some 950/XL's are affected. I'm one of them.

Can you post your issue in a thread I made about 5Ghz WiFi...haven't gotten a lot of support in that thread, but I've seen a lot of similar issues across these forums. Sharing what your router brand & model would be helpful as well:
