I thought none of the non supported devices were getting updates going forward from that announcement. Even on insider....what gives?

I think msft just said that to prevent people bricking their phones or causing severe damage to them. As a safeguard. I have set up my boyfriends Nokia Lumia 520 and she runs like a dream. Insider preview is definitely the way to go! Stability with confidence.

Why not just say we are only supporting the older devices via windows insider preview. I don't care about "official" updates as long as I get them via insider. JESUS...talk about make people pissed off for no reason. That being said, I am trading the 1020s in for a new 950 and 950xl using the trade in program. My wife loves her 1020, hopfully she likes the 950 just as much.

I still have the bug, that Photos which I delete in the Photo-App are still visible in File-Explorer.

Does anyone have issues with Cortana crapping out before you had a chance to finish your dictation or command to send the SMS via Bluetooth? This has been an issue ongoing for my BMWs. I really don't think it's Bluetooth, but more likely with Cortana at this point. Anyone else can confirm this problem? Thanks.

Did this update unlock visual voicemail for anyone on the unlocked dual-sim 950XL (ATT) - I think it just did, but I updated 24hrs ago and it just popped up now.

I can't speak for the XL but the Dual Sim 950's visual works. BTW if you want to set it up without someone calling you, connect to your voicemail and leave yourself a message (create a message and use your phone number as recipient). Your voicemail will beep and it will ask you for your password for visual and your good to go!

Wonder if there are any improvements to battery usage on my wife Lumia 640.

For what it's worth, I upgraded to .218 and changed the Diagnotstic and Usage data setting from Full (Recommended) to Basic and so far, my battery life has gone up 50% to 100%. Most of that is idle life being much better, and so far, it's a very small sample size. If I had to guess, I would say the primary change is the Diagnostics setting, not the build.

Anyone else not able to turn contacts on and off in Outlook for Microsoft account? This also happened in 14295 to me and the backup I restored was from that build.

Basically the switches aren't there. In 14295 the contacts and calendar wouldn't show up. They are here in 218 but no switches to turn them on and off.

Any reason my ATT 830 is unable to choose the release preview? I'm currently on the Slow ring and want to change to release preview, but the release preview isn't even an option in the Windows Insider app. Anyone else having this issue?

Phone is much much snappier. I cannot wait to get the 950xl now. Garmin supports wearable notifications. that's pretty awesome.

And what about the glitch when going to the next song? Is that still there?

Yeah. My 640 is much more responsive from general navigation with touch. The last builds were pretty bad on registering touches, drags, taps, etc.

my dad has a Lumia 635 (512mb) and when going into windows insider app we do not see the production release ring?

any ideas? if the 1020 can get it surely the 635 can?

also although I am using Redstone on 950XL, when opening the windows insiders app I too do not see this ring?

Works smooth even on my 512 MB Lumia 620. The only thing that I've noticed is that the Edge browser hangs on certain wegpages and reloads them spontaneously (e.g. aeroTELEGRAPH - Ihre Luftfahrt-News. Nachrichten und Informationen zu Luftfahrt und Flugreisen - aktuell, verst?ndlich, umfassend.).
