Re: W10M Insider Preview 10586.338 Issues (Threshold branch)

Reset Time...

I did after the last build. Still no worky. So why go through all that pain. BTW I am not on insider. I have a 950 these builds were released without joining insider. At some point.. MS should have a way to update with out a hard reset where the data goes nuts and battery melts down for two days while it restores all your stuff.

Maybe I'll do a hard reset this weekend. Cause I cant be plugged in for two days right now while everything gets back to normal. Cortana will likely still be a mess anyway... :(

I understand the amount of time and inconvenience that a Reset entails. I really do.

I mentioned it because I had no indicator that you tried it...

Did you get 10586.338 without Insider? My never on Insider 1520 isn't seeing it. So far as I can tell .338 is just Release Ring.

Lumia 640 unlocked Gophone on Consumer Cellular. Updated smoothly. Noticed slight increase in battery usage and flashlight toggle missing in Action Center.....Nothing else to report at this time....

+1 she's pretty much useless at this point. :( and has been for a couple builds... (L950 USA)

never had a problem reading texts in my car or while i have headphones on.

i had issues (again) last build with quiet hours not triggering or turning off. this latest build has fixed it (again)

Soft reset should bring the flashlight back

Is Cortana still crashing for anyone else?

Thanks, flashlight present and working. I should know better by now to use the good old soft reset. Too bad it doesn't work on some of my life's issues, though.

On the BLU win hd lte I seem to be stuck on the 10586.318. Is anyone else having issues getting the 10586.338 update?

Re: W10M Insider Preview 10586.338 Issues (Threshold Branch, Release Ring)

Can anybody check the following on 10586.338? These are bugs on .318 on L925
1. Wifi hotspot not working properly under lock screen.
2. Mobile data/battery saver settings (long press) can't be accessed from lock screen via action center.
3. Photos not deleting properly from 'Photos App'. Deleted photo can be accessed from camera/file manager. (fixed in latest update of photos v16.526.11222.0 atleast on .318)

I have .338 on a L640 and a L635 (512MB).

1. Wifi hotspot works for me under the lockscreen on both phones.
2. I can long press and access the settings for both mobile data (cellular data) and battery saver on both phones.
3. Delete photos within the Photos app now deletes the photo from the file system properly for both my 635 and 640. On a side note, with .318, deleting from photos from the Photos app was a tricky one. It did actually delete properly, but it was conditional. After you delete the photo from within the Photos app, you have to let it sync. If you let it sync, the photo will be deleted from both OneDrive and the local storage. I've tested this a bunch of times. If you just delete the photo from within the app, and you don't let it sync, it'll still exist on the local storage. Glad it works properly now.

I also have the same 2 devices, and have been testing them both. I can confirm everything wgs84 has posted.

Soft reset brought back the flashlight for me as well.

No crashes from Cortana SO FAR. We'll see how long that holds out. Haven't been able to test Cortana reading texts yet, as I haven't received any since the update.

For some reason, trying to connect to my Bluetooth headset, Bluetooth keyboard, Bluetooth speaker, etc. will NOT work while I'm using the Mobile Hotspot. I'm about to try a soft reset to see if it fixes that issue. I'll edit back after testing that.

EDIT: Okay, soft reset now allows me to have Bluetooth devices connected at the same time as Mobile Hotspot, as long as I connect the Bluetooth devices BEFORE turning on the Mobile Hotspot.

I get random Cortana opening while the phone is locked. I unchecked speech over lockscreen but doesn't change. I guess it gets triggered when I enter/leave a favorite place.

Yes. I received update without insider ... I would expect .338 went out to all devices that shipped with W10M.

I went ahead and did a reset.. Ugh.. I always think it wont be that bad.. .LOL then I wait... and battery life sucks... oh well ;) I haven't tried Cortana yet since it is still "cooking" AND one of the issue with doing a reset is that you have to go re-pair all your Bluetooth devices.. which I haven't done yet.. Shall see.. right now fighting battery life til the restore is complete...

I've had zero problems with Cortana. Guess I'm the lucky one. From Lumia 920.
