Hi everyone!
Just got my hands on a spare 620 and surely updated it to 10586.338 to see how fast it would be with .5 GB RAM (fast enough, actually, I expected worse after all the complaints).
Problem is: the Maps won't update to the new version. They did update to, well, the latest, but that's not the latest, that's 4.1603.1190.0 while my Lumia 920 (same Preview build) runs 5.1606.1580.0 (the one that can show zoom buttons on the left side of the map - very useful for me).
Tried soft reset, hard reset, all types of Insider Preview involvement...
Am I alone with this and maybe something went wrong while updating from 8.1 to 10? Or it's okay due to 512 MB and a 3.8' screen?
Thanks for any info!

I have one Lumia 640 that is updated to 10586.318 (the latest "production" version). On that phone, the Maps app updated to 5.1606.1580.0.

I updated another Lumia 640 to 10586.338 (the latest "pre-release" version). On that phone, the Maps app only updated to 4.1603.1190.0.

I updated another Lumia 640 to 14295.1005. On that phone, the Maps app updated to 5.1606.1581.0.

So, depending on the specific version of Win10 Mobile on a phone, the Maps app was at version: 5.1606.1580.0, 5.1606.1581.0 or 4.1603.1190.0.

Perhaps Microsoft only will deliver a version of an app that it has tested with, or otherwise determined will work properly with, the specific version of W10M that is installed?

My 950 is on production : old Maps. My wife's 640 is on production : old Maps (4.x).

But a friend's 950 is on production : new Maps for 3 weeks.

I think it depends on your ring AND on your device (not the RM type, but another criterium)

Whoa. That's awkward, but maybe there's some sense from MS' point, testing or something. Thank you everyone for your response, at least I can see it's OK that versions are different.
