Google image search not working in Edge (release preview ring)

Has anyone else experienced a "404" when trying to use google image search in Edge? I don't remember when this started, but when I go to images.google.com and try to search for something, I get "404. That's an error. The requested URL /search was not found on this server. That's all we know."

I don't get this on any other device. Is Edge sending a no-good request, or is Google pulling some more BS like with the YouTube app?

As far I remember since 8.1, Google image search NEVER WORKED out of droids and iStuffs: it' locked by Google.
Ages ago I remember a 8.1. images search app (made NOT by Google)

it works fine for me on my iPad, and the iPhone this Lumia replaced.

sadly, I can't remember if it worked on Internet Explorer when this phone still had 8.1/Denim.

I know it works perfectly, I wrote before. Google explicitly banned it only to Microsoft mobiles years ago

Sorry, it works only in Desktop Mode.
When I switch to Mobile I get the same '404' error.
