How can I fix my custom text tones on contacts?

Today I set in notifications default tone, and then for some contacts set custom tone and WORKS!!!!

If I'm reading this correctly, yes, if the main text tone is set to "Default", then any contact you give a "Custom" text tone will play as it should.

The issue is when you change the main text tone from "Default" to a "Custom" text tone, any other person on your phone you have given a different "Custom" text tone to, will be overridden by the "Custom" you set as your main...

Ya follow? I know it gets a little confusing at times.

This happens with all settings as well. Ringtones, alarms, as well as with the text tones.

Has this issue ever had a fix?

I'm having it now on Windows 10 Mobile Production Build 10.0.10586.420.

Whatever I change the the default sms tone to overrides all the custom sms tones I have set.

It hasn't been fixed, I'm still having this problem post anniversary.So to get custom text tones for a contact to work you have to have the universal text tone set to default?

Nope, brand new Lumia 950 and it has the problem still.
