The Windows 10 April 2018 update has arrived! Get the new Dell XPS 15, starting at $999.99

    Hi,

Since upgrading to Windows 10 mobile I get dozens of warnings a day that my mail accounts are out of date. It is only my outlook based accounts, not my Gmail based one. The accounts work perfectly otherwise but I desperately want to stop the endless warnings. Choosing fix account and re-entering the account login details does not seem to fix the problem.

Anyone know how to fix this?

    Thanks,

    Dave

It's a bug in 10 for some and will suddenly fix itself for awhile

It was also a bug in 8.1. I had the issue only with my default account on WP8.1, but not desktop, and W10 desktop and phone, but this go round of trying out 10, it's not been an issue.

ETA: Scratch that. Still an issue.

I have gotten that a few times. The fix is to make sure that all places you have that Hotmail account setup (pc, phone etc) have all the same settings, as in sync rate, amount of email, how far back to sync etc.

This has worked for me when I have gotten the message.

I don't see this as a bug, but rather the different platforms not syncing the settings properly, or at all.

Is your phone auto-connecting to a WiFi network that requires a web page logon/accept to make the internet connection? If it is stuck in that position it seems to affect Exchange mailboxes. It is a bug and needs to be reported/upvoted on Windows Feedback.

Definitely a bug that has been posted a lot on the Microsoft site, but no solution. It's an issue of it's own and doesn't seem to depend on network or sync settings. Mine, for example, pops up with a list of random holidays like "day after Thanksgiving" and "administrative professionals day" from 2020 when I manually sync my default mail. The only solution I've ever heard that works is to use a different account for your phone.

I had it for a long time (Outlook personal, Office 365 business accounts) but it stopped after the last Outlook update. Thought it returned last night but turned out it was correct - my Office 365 password had expired and needed to be updated.

    Thank you for your replies.

I have fixed the issue - I selected fix accounts, and it asked for my login details again. Then I chose fix accounts a second time and it asked for my pin. After this my 3 outlook accounts work perfectly and I haven't had the accounts out of date issue since.
