Re: Lumia 520, 720, 920, 1020, 1320 Owners

Hi, can you please elaborate steps after hard reset for a smooth upgrade to Insider on Lumia 920?

HI, first you have to intall Windows Insider on your phone and then run it choosing slow ring or production ring.
The phone will restart after you choose the ring and then you have to go to phone update and it will install 10586 insider.
After that see how yout 920 Works and if necessary do a hard reset wich will install 10586 as a clean instalattion.

Actually worse, with windows phone 7 we at least got one last version 7.8 to help make it look like 8.0. I'd be very happy if they would release a 8.2 with the settings area cleaned up and improved action panel for my L635. Everything else in 10 they can keep.

Not worse in any way lol. You can get on W10 with the insiders preview and get your cleaned up UI and action center on your L635.

Actually doing that would be the exact same as an 8.2 update because phones like the 635 will not be getting updates to W10 after a certain point.

New configuration update for the 1020 on Fast Ring, everything goes very very smooth after update, only blank icon for Groove, that's all.

So great update to the system

Did Microsoft say that "All" older phones will be updated or just "older phones would be updated? Because if it's the latter than technically Microsoft is keeping to their word as the L640 is an older phone. People just assumed. But if they said "All" then they definitely need to stop overpromising because all they're doing is giving more ammo to the haters.

They stated in the conference that all 8.1 phones will be updated
Go watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2vwjQLAN08
I'm not haters because I've been using Windows phone since 7

Try running the insider app again and change to a different ring. You may actually be too late Microsoft may had switched off the insiders 586 ring for unsupported devices now they have started offering RS1 builds to older phones on the insider program.

Search scrolling top of page the articles about Windows 10 roll out: Gabe said for x20 series build 10586 will be the last in Insider. Maybe Redstone will be released in slow on Summer for all windows 10 updatable phone, not x20 serie.
You can still normally use 10586 but after that day you'll never get support, if there are not change of strategy.
Collecting feedback revealed Win10 is too much problematic on X20 serie for a solution.
See articles

they sucks =-= dumping x20 series not a good thing

That's happen when people stops using brain.
Win10 is THE LAST MS o.s. , it will not be a Win11. It will develop in future build after build.

Hardware using 10 now can use 10 in future. That's so obvious I can't believe there's the need of writing!
The idea of idea of Windows 10 being the last version of windows seems a bit disingenuous really. It's still going to change, only it won't be separate distinct versions, just a continual upgrade. There still has to be a point where your device will no longer be able to handle the latest features and hence you'll have to upgrade just as you would in the past.

I was just reading over in the Redstone Build (bugs) thread .. those folks better be careful before msft decides that their phones aren't capable enough to run Windows 10 Mobile, from 'all the bad feedback'. (ha ha I couldn't help myself). No issue, it just struck me funny. :)
