What is the IE app on Windows Mobile 10?

[Windows Central Question]

If I look at My Library in the Store, there is an app called 'IE' by Microsoft. This apparently does nothing and I don't recall installing it. It does not appear on my app list and hence can't be uninstalled. There's also no sign of it in a store search.

Any ideas whether this is just a glitch or something more sinister?

Running production WP10 on a 930.

pretty sure its just a placeholder or something for Internet Explorer, the web browser before Edge replaced it. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks for the reply. Thought it might be an artefact om multiple upgrades and having been on the insider pro.
