YES you will stay on 14295.. The only way to get back to 164 is by using the Windows Devices Recovery Tool

Re: hard reset from 14295

thats what i thought cheers, daughters phone got a couple of glitches on 14295 was thinking of hard reset ,now trying to decide to see if hard reset on 14295 might iron out the glitches ,or to put her back to 164, i know 164 worked perfectly on my 930, but saying that build 14295 works ok on my 930, decisions decisions lol

@mightyh... I agree with Maya77. If the bugs aren't that bad, hold off for a bit. Plus if you're not using the feedback app regularly, try setting feedback upload option to basic (settings > privacy), soft reset and let the phone sit for a bit and check again..

What kind of issues are you having tho?

Re: hard reset from 14295

I also had build 14295, but it had too many bugs that I couldn't use it - Store didn't work, my contacts did not sync and most essential apps would never open, including photos, mail and phone.

Soft reset didn't work, neither did the Hard Reset. I used the Windows Devices Recovery Tool and rolled back to Win8.1. and upgraded to 10586 (production ring).

Note: If you wish to upgrade back, do install all apps when you downgrade, because your data will not be saved when you re-upgrade to Windows 10. Windows 8.1 Phone overwrites your current Windows 10 Mobile backup on OneDrive, kinda weird thing... Be sure to back up your data at each build to be on safest side.

A trick could be a temporarly change of phone name in Settings, so for creating 2 different backups (E.g. Lumia 520 10, Lumia 520 8.1)

Re: hard reset from 14295

FWIW: On my 1520.3, 14295 became progressively terrible. So I hard reset, which fixed it. Hopefully that will be enough until the next Build is released.

Best bet would be to not put a buggy beta on your kids' phone. Imo. That Insider disclaimer is full of advice.
