I have had my Lumia 930 for 2 yrs now and I feel the urge to try out win10. I am not sure what I will be missing out on, or what issues I may face if I was to upgrade.
    Shall I? Shall I not?

Many thanks for your time and advise in advance !!!

Is windows 10 mature enough for a Lumia 930?
I think so. You should probably let them date.

That Release Ring is a nice boy.Maybe don't let her chase that Fast Ring jerk. He's very moody and changeable.

yea its good enough to my icon, you MAY miss the unparalleled stability and perfection of 8.1, but you gain some nice functionality and just all around a more mature OS with lots of up to date apps and niceties

I have used it in my L930 since 10586.29 (half year ago) , today on 10586.420 & I do not regret it for a second.

Just make sure that you do a factory hard reset after the upgrade & dosen't restore any old WP8.1 settings. So a clean install as it was out of the box.

Can I restore my apps automatically after the hard reset or I need to it one by one manually?
    Thanks

Only if you choose to restore from a backup, which you can.

    Ok sorry for being stupid...
That implies that any WP8.1 OS settings will also be restored?

Nah don't worry about it, there were plenty of times where I didn't know what to expect from a new mobile OS, etc.

I believe some to most settings should be restored. Settings that changed may not migrate well, etc. I would check them all after the restore.

I've been testing Windows Mobile 10 (Fast Ring) on my 930 since it was first available. Lately on the last few builds my 930 heats up a lot and runs through battery much faster than ever. In fact I've replaced it as my daily driver with a 650 because it has been more stable and less prone to heat and battery drain. Most things work on the 930 but Wallet 2, although it will download and install, does not. You can only add loyalty cards. Maps was acting up in a few recent builds but seems okay now. A few occasional problems on Bing News where some stories will show up in huge font, but that's minor.

I do like Win 10 quite a lot on the 930 and it's certainly worth a try if you either don't need it as your main phone, if you're not a heavy user and/or you have a means to recharge during the day. I keep an extra charger in my office and one in my car, just in case.

What I miss on my 930 with w10 from 8.1 is not working motion data (but as I understand - it works for someone) and not having problem with microphones. Somehow managed to return sound to video recording, but other stuff like Shazam I have already forgotten.

Everything else is okay. Running .420 preview ring.
