    Hello!
As many of you probably know, most Windows 10 Mobile phones don't allow the setting of Static IP addresses. On older ones like Lumia 640 it was possible to enable it doing interop unlock and then changing the registry, but on x50 (Lumia 950, 950XL, 650) it was not possible.

    Well now it is!
Here's the interop unlock vcREG: lumia reg editor + interop unlock. No… | Windows 10 Mobile

And after you have done that, you can use Interop Tools to enable Static IP in its "Tweaks" section.

It is a pain to have to go through these steps if you just want to enable Static IP addresses (the steps enable a bunch of other things too), but at least there's a solution now.

I know some people think that Static IP addresses are bad and shouldn't be used, but please understand that not everybody is in your use case. There are different reasons for using static ips, so respect that.

    Good luck!

Static IPs aren't bad... some just don't understand lol.

If they were bad, would have ISPs offered to set Static IP's for customers at an additional cost although I have no idea why such a service exists given we're pretty much out of IPv4 addresses globally. Thus essentially everyone has a static IP ...

Going back on topic, MS allows OEM's to be able to enable static ip addresses or not hence why some models are able to set a static IP and others not...

Yeah... OEMs shouldn't be allowed to decide that. But even Microsoft did it, which is definitely wrong in my opinion :( still, I'm happy now that I can set it.
