    Recently i'm trying to install windows 10 mobile build 15063 from 14393 (release preview ring to fast ring), but i'm only getting build 15051 in the update screen that too not installing, getting an error either stuck at 74-78% or missing files in update error
    my mobile is lumia 640 and i've also done factory reset too, windows 8.1 -> windows 10 (it took 2 build updates in windows 10 before coming to 14393)
    Any help is appreciated

    Updating from the Windows 10 Anniversary Update (Build 14393) directly to this build won’t work. There will be an extra hop required to get to this build. If you use WDRT to go re-flash your device and join the Fast ring, you will not be offered this build and instead offered Build 15055. Once you’re on Build 15055, your device will find Build 15063 and take the update then.

    I'm having a similar issue on my 950. Sadly it only offers 15051 & wont complete the download. I have reflashed twice w/ the same result

    OK, so I've finally figured out how to do it! First I'll explain what I was doing then I'll describe the correct way to update because the difference is ridiculously small.

    So I was re-flashing, then opting into the fast ring which updated me to 14393.67. This is the build that wont update to 15051.

    What we need to do is re-flash & opt in release preview ring. This updates us to 14393.953 which then updated to 15051 & then to 15063.

    Stupid I know. Why Microsoft has the fast ring entering you into an earlier & un-upgradable build is beyond me. But lets be honest no one here is surprised in the least ;)

    Can you explain what you mean with this sentence: "What we need to do is re-flash & opt in release preview ring."

    Same problem here, and this is what I'm going to try next. Thanks.

    reflash = hard reset??
    Reflash means use Windows Device Recovery Tool (WDRT) to go back to pre-Anniversary Update state.

    And yes, it works! Currently my L950XL is preparing to install 15051.

    Thanks again. ;)

    well they assume we all are on the latest cumulative build since there isn't any easy* way to block updates, good to know, I'm on .323 or something, so I will have to get .953 when they confirm 15063 as RTM
