Hello,

I have one simple question I need an answer to so I havw come to rhe best place to, hopefully, get help.

What is the difference between hp elite x3 model number Y1M46EA#ABD and hp elite x3 model number Y1M43EA#ABD?

Yes, some of you may be thinking 'why do you want one of those?' Because I just do, that's why. I want a new Windows phone but having seen 2 on the net, with those two different model numbers, I was wondering what the difference was, if any.

Also, this might be a daft question but please humour me.

I am British but I now live in Denmark and online I have seen in the specs section, a part about languages, listing all the Scandinavian languages and not English. Does that mean there is a model in Scandinavia which does not support English set up?

Thank you for your time. 🙂

I don't see what the point of that would be. They look identical plus the website is in Danish. My husband had a look at it - he is a native Dane - and he said there was no information on the site ad to what the difference was. Which is why I am here asking.

Hi

It could just be a colour difference? According to that site, the 46EA one shows as being 'Chrome, Graphite' whereas the 43EA one shows as being 'Black, Grey'.

You could try to contact HP and ask them? I hear their after sales support is good, so I'd expect them to give an answer to a prospective customer in a fairly quick timeframe too.

A little further searching has given a slightly different answer. This site https://skinflint.co.uk/hp-elite-x3-standard-package-black-y1m43ea-a1396305.html lists them as being different packages:

Standard (43EA)
Premium (44EA)
Standard incl. desk dock (45EA)
Premium incl. desk dock (46EA)

I'm not quite sure the difference between Standard and Premium packages? I couldn't pick up any differences in the overview of specifications. Maybe it's something to do with HP support or Workspace?

I think you are right. It is definitely the European model. Hopefully you are out of Europe. Also like said it could include premium support. You need to call Elite Support and ask them about those SKUs, try to get Level 2 support from the Elite Help Desk.

Don't apologize for wanting an HP Elite x3. It is a very solid, very capable device. I use it everyday and every time I pick it up, I am reminded that I prefer it to my Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus which is a phone people don't usually feel they have to explain or apologize about. The x3 is heavier, more substantial, more stable, better keyboard, better form factor (I don't like the tall and thin design used by Samsung). And hands down, Windows 10 Mobile is a better OS. Email is vastly superior on the x3 as well. Good luck and enjoy!

You left out the monster battery. The x3 gets little love for the battery. My 950XL was a dog when it came to the battery. The x3 gets me through the day with 40% left to go with HEAVY usage. 5 email accounts pulling as they arrive, listening to podcasts all day all social apps running in background etc. LOVE mine.... except when the ******* freezes and freaks out on me.
