Anyone know of a Twitter app that has been updated that allows 280 characters? Seems like the Twitter app, Tweetium, and Peregrine have not been updated in the last year or two.

    Thanks.

    Happy New Year.

None that I know of. What I did was pin the Twitter mobile website to my Start screen along with the Twitter app. I just open the website if I want to tweet more than 140 characters. Honestly, if I could have a dark theme on the mobile website, I would just use that all of the time. I have increasingly gone with pinning mobile website pages to Start as apps have disappeared over time.

Rumor has it an app called Fenice will show and allow 280 character tweets.

Nope. Fenice does not allow 280 character tweets. If you tweet more than 140, it breaks them up into 2 tweets.

Kerry, what version of Fenice did you get to download? I got 3.5.17.0 but apparently there is a 4.1 version out there.

The 3.5 is the latest version for mobile and the newer one is for desktop only. I haven't used the desktop version for a while so not sure if it supports longer tweets either.

I saw a tweet from the developer saying that 280 character tweets are coming to the mobile version "late December/early January" so we'll see what transpires over the next few weeks.

I just use the web app and pin it to my home screen. It works just like the app but better, and will always be updated. The only thing it doesn't have is notifications, which is the only reason i still keep the app.
