Yes, and no Fond Memories here.

I still have a 16GB Zune HD. It was an OK MP3 player, but has an extraordinarily difficult method of volume control. It seriously needed hardware volume buttons. Its impossible to adjust the volume without looking at it. Something that is easy on other players WITH hardware volume controls.

There is a reason why EVERY phone and MP3 player today has hardware volume controls.

But I absolutely hated the stupid Zune software that you installed on the PC. Man, that was a train wreck. MP3 files that work just fine on any iPod - or even a Dell Jukebox (yes, I even have a couple of those that still work) - would simply not copy over to the Zune. Copy over a bunch of CDs and 3 or 4 random tracks would be missing. For no good reason.

You could drag them over 1,000 times, it just Would Not Work. It was something about the MP3 Tags, but I never did quite figure it out.

Combined with the absurd on-screen-only volume controls, I just gave up on the Zune HD. Which - apparently - everyone else did too.
