Not sure if this has been covered before, but I found this article today, stating that the UK will be getting Cortana in the next two weeks.

Cortana, Windows Phone 8.1's virtual PA, will finally be available in the UK from this month.

Microsoft's answer to Siri has been available in the US since Windows Phone 8.1's launch in April this year, but had not been localised for any other regions.

However, according to Neowin, UK users can expect to have their very own version of Cortana in the coming fortnight.

Localisaed features reportedly include the ability to "deal with the wide range of accents that can be found across the British Isles", and more localised support for its notebook function, which tracks users' interests and settings.

What increased support for accents actually means is unclear, particularly as PC Pro found the US version handled a variety of British accents without a problem.

Microsoft has said Cortana will be available to UK customers this year, however an autumn launch had been expected.

The coming roll out of Windows Phone 8.1 in the UK, which starts from 24 June, may have moved up the release of Cortana, according to Neowin.

Indeed, Cortana is one of the flagship new features of the operating system, so it makes sense to include it in the roll out.

PC Pro contacted Microsoft for confirmation of Cortana's arrival on our shores, but had not received a response at the time of publication.
