Okay so it got me thinking...many users suggested Windows One (X-box One, Onenote...) and Windows X was even reported.

    If you do this.

    Windows One = Windows 1.0 = Windows 10 [minus the "."]

    Windows X = Windows 10 = X is the roman numeral symbol for #10

So it turns out Microsoft almost satisfied everyone by naming it Windows 10!

    Smart move MS!

I think it's pretty sweet. Plus it makes me feel like I just time traveled and got the new version sooner.

    Version number logic:
    Windows 7 = NT6.1 = 6+1 = 7
    Windows 8 = NT 6.2 = 6+2 = 8
    Windows 8.1 = NT 6.3 = 6+3 = 9
    Windows 10 = NT 6.4? = 6+4 = 10

First thing I thought of when I heard it was called 10, was that they was counting 8.1 as 9.

MS knew that everyone would expect 9 as that's the next number in chronological order. The rumors went on and on for months. To everyone's surprise, they skipped 9 and chose 10.

Windows 9 or Windows 10 doesn't make any difference to me. As long as its a solid OS for WP and has lot of good features imbibed within, minimal bugs and gains market share, I'm more than happy.

Well it would be, wp10 would be a major update, along with the desktop version, with minimum bugs & better security
