Cortana doing Push notifications?

Is this new or I only noticed it today?
Cortana sent alerts on my preferred news as a notification. The notification had her icon and the news heading.
Never seen something like it before.

I always get weather alert/warning push notifications by Cortana. Don't recall about news though.
