Installing Windows 10 technical preview on my Surface 3

Hi, I had some questions about installing the latest windows 10 Technical preview onto my Surface 3. I have a USB that is password protected, will that work to install the ISO? If not, could I use my phone and download the ISO to that and have it boot from there? Thanks in advance!

I downloaded the ISO to my desktop on my S3 and just boot from there.

I thought I read that you have to boot it from a USB or disc in BIOS to install it, am I mistaken?

I'm not sure about that. I don't believe so, as I downloaded it to my desktop yesterday and loaded win 10 from there this morning.
