I don't think you can disable windows update if you are a windows insider. At least not officially. You can, however, stop being an insider and then control and stop windows update.

Insiders can indeed not disable windows update. Actually, anyone one a Home version of Windows 10 won't be able to disable updates.

Easy. You block access to the windows update servers at your router. I'm sure a search on the web will reveal the addresses of the servers concerned.
