Need help with planning Xbox streaming setup

Ok, I need a bit of help off you guys please. My Xbox is upstairs in the bedroom. There's times when I may want to just chill on the sofa downstairs when mum and dad are away. To do this I need a windows 10 device yeah? What would be the cheapest device that would plug into my TV downstairs? I was thinking the Intel stick? But the question is... If I get this stick thing then how am I supposed to connect the controller to it? Does the Xbox controller still connect to the Xbox upstairs or does it have to be connected to the win 10 device?

Hmm, interesting question.

I haven't managed to get it to work (due to failing routers, they give up with high data traffic) however I imagine you should be able to plug in the controller via usb and use it that way. As this whole feature would be redundant if the controller still needed a active connection with the xbox 1 to be used.
