Good news, the blogger that reported a fix for the issue in 24-48 hours said she was told this update does not include the fix, but we should expect it tomorrow.

Are any of you finding that Mail doesn't show in the background apps list? Is this because it is bundled under calendar?

Yes, but I was told that is a bug.

A fix just has to be soon. There are too many people complaining about it. They are getting bad publicity from the tech blogs too. Some can't even open the app.

I can't open the Mail or Calendar app. It launches but just sits in the big blue screen and never loads the email.

Now, my Action Center is filling up with all my new emails, but the app just won't load.

That's horrible, I'm sorry. I thought my problem of having to manually sync was bad.

Heh.. it's OK. :) I do all of my emailing on my phone or just over the web browser anyway. Haven't used the mail app that much since it doesn't give me proper notifications. It does at least seem to run in the background.. from time to time.

I've tried the get-appxpackage *communi* | remove-AppxPackage command from an admin PowerShell window, but that seems to be hanging as well. I guess I just need to wait for their update to see if that corrects it.

I have not heard of that command. I will google and see if that helps me at all.

    perhaps this is the fix...

Yeah, that seems like my issue. I just checked my store and saw the same three updates that were there the other day still have not downloaded and I just tried to download the ESPN app and it isn't working.

A reboot this morning is fixed it for a lot of people. Reboot then open store. Wait a few minutes for it to clear.

So is this problem fixed for you? I still don't receive any notification in the Action Center when I receive a new e-mail. :(

According to several people, it is fixed in the preview version that was released last week. I think it comes out in October.

My live tile all of a sudden started working and I started to get notifications for the mail app yesterday at about 6:17 pm EST on windows 10. I'm not running the preview version either.

I wonder if the app was updated. Is there a way to tell? I haven't been able to find a way.
