I will update from W7. I did system a image backup and it's saved on my second HDD. If I face some problems I want immediately come back to W7, dont want to waste time trying to fix it. Before I go I want to know the process of restoring my W7 from that backup I made. How to do it?

ps. Not too long ago I bought new HDD and tried to "restore" from similar image and I couldn't. I don't know was it because my new was HDD clean (in my understanding something From new HDD was supposed to trigger restoring process) or something else caused the error. So before I go W10 I want to know how to come back to W7

It depends on what program you used to perform the backup. You'll use the same program to perform the restore. Hint - the tools that come in Windows will work for backup/restore of data, but not of Windows itself.
