640XL DS RM-1096 Canada downloading now, started up Upgrade Advisor, I'm not in the Insider program anymore.

I think it is the same. When I check with Upgrade Advisor, and then go to Settings->PhoneUpdate, it says "checked 20 seconds ago".
Upgrade Advisor just cleans up some files, then uses the same function to check for updates as the Settings App.

i did get a upgrade notification on the app but none on my phone settings. things are a bit slow on the other side

The Phone Update app still doesn't show the update available after checking through UpdateAdvisor.

When I downloaded the Upgrade Advisor App and it identified that an upgrade was available it said I was ready to install he Technical Preview 10.0.10586.71. This can't be right.

That's correct. That's the release version, you'll get another patch to get to the current production build version.

Would it not come through the Phone's Update? My fear is I don't want to stay on the TP and wait. I find the TP's to be unstable for everyday use.
