Hiya. My wired Xbox One controller works fine on W8.1. On W10 it works fine with the USB2 ports (doesn't vibe on plug in anymore though, if that means anything). If I plug it into a USB3 port however (such as the ones on the front of my case, as the USB2 ports are around the back and not ideal for gaming access) it connects, then disconnects, then connects, then disconnects, up and down in quick succession until I give up and unplug it.
An OS reinstall does not help. I am using the ASMedia USB3 ports with either the drivers MS provide or the ASMedia W10 drivers, same result. This is not a lead or hardware issue, as the USB3 ports work with all other devices and so does the controller. In fact, the controller works fine with the USB3 ports as proven under W8.1.
So, why is W10 being flakey with USB3 and what can be done to address it?
