Installed Windows 10 not getting error "invalid value for registry"

I installed Windows 10 yesterday. Now I am unable to open any of my photos. I receive an error "invalid value to registry". If anyone can assist me to correct this it would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem and am awaiting a permanent fix but the workaround is to open the photos inside your viewer or editing application, e.g. open Photo Shop first and then open the photos.
