    I have the free upgrade to Win 10 on my son's pc. The pc crashed. How do I put win 10 on the new one I'm building?

    You may have to contact Microsoft support as the upgrade is dependent on having a valid license/key. Microsoft is usually pretty lenient as long as you provide a valid reason for needing a new key, so they should give you a new one. Then, in theory, you could download the ISO, enter the key, and enjoy Windows 10. Otherwise, you could always buy a new Windows installation and upgrade.

    If you bought the license as a standalone you should be able to transfer it. If it came with the pc tho, you can't.
