Most of us are already on W10 and for some things are going smoothly for others not so much. If you're in the latter category, hold on, better days are coming.. This topic came to mind yesterday when I remembered that I had issues shutting down my laptop completely.

What happened? Well I would go through my usual shutdown process and once off I would simply close the lid. However when going to boot up, I would open the lid and notice that the laptop is still awake, because I don't have to press anything or log in. I open the lid and find myself on the desktop.

If this sounds familiar, here's the solution (that works for me):

Before shutting down, make sure that all open programs are closed and then go for the shutdown..

If you're shutting down and the system has to close programs for you then in some cases it'll be a "russian roulette" moment. Doesn't always happen tho..
