Microsoft released a Windows 10 upgrade on Sept 21. When I tried to run WMC (that has been running fine since July) if failed to connect to my cable card tuners. Tried a few things and ended up rolling back to the previous version of Windows 10. Everything is OK now. I have not yet tried to apply patches one at a time to see if there is an issue. Has anyone else had a problem with the upgrade or did I give up too quickly? Thanks

When I tried to install the v12 package today, I received the following error. Anyone able to help?

I had previously installed WindowsMediaCenter_10.0.10134.0v2.1 but uninstalled it prior to this installation.

    Many thanks

When my PC got the Anniversary Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3176936) yesterday, I had no more WMC. I had used the method described on this thread. Tried uninstall/reinstall per the instructions but got the "Installing package failed, reverting..." message like you did, though that was the only error (did not get "The specified package is not applicable to this image.")

Also tried to recover to pre-update on another similarly set-up Win 10 PC before any other action, but still didn't have WMC.

I ended up installing an older version (WMC-V8.8.1_x64) and WMC is working. I am able to download program guide, etc.

BTW, I currently only get 4-5 days of program guide. Does anyone know how or if I can increase to 2 weeks?

Me too. WMC is gone after anniversary update. Super lame that it would uninstall programs without asking. I haven't got it back up and running yet.

I was able to get everything working again with the Windows 10 WMC 8.8.1 zip file referenced here:

You will need to create a login to see the post. You will want to uninstall whatever you had before.

Here's to the next Windows 10 Anniversary Update not being quite so labor-intensive.

I have Windows 10 version 1511, I had rolled back the anniversary update. On 10/14/16 a security patch KB3192441 was applied and that patch prevented my WMC from seeing my cablecard tuners. I am running the WMC 8.8.1 mentioned in previous posts. I have not tried to reapply the anniversary update and see if WMC 8.8.1 works like TulsaTV mentioned. Has anyone seen similar behavior with the recent patch and has anyone else gotten WMC 8.8.1 to work with the anniversary update? - Thanks

Found an informative post about this issue: https://forums.mydigitallife.info/th...e740?p=1283820
Basically the author wrote that the patch does the same thing as the anniversary update and for WMC to work it has to be rolled back
