C'mon, and I really hate Windows 8/8.1 and now it turned out Windows 10 is a lot worse!
It force users to open an Ms account for adult and the children in order to use the new parental control!
And you need to submit your CC # to Microsoft and donate $0.5 to some charity.
No I revered it back to Windows 8.1 and no MS accounts for children!!!

And I really wish I cen reverse my computer back to W7!!!

Seriously, who did you give your credit card info to, because MS never asked for one in any Win10 install I've done. At any point. Not even a child account. You should be weary, did you per-chance fall for an external scam?

That supplied link shows it's not Microsoft, but a law forcing their hand. You should probably talk to a congressman (Good luck getting a politician to give a crap about anything but themselves) about this, rather than a company complying with a law.

The reference says it's the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act that's at work - so it's the Law, not Microsoft.

At any rate, to answer your original question, the Microsoft website you posted has "Email Microsoft support" and "Chat with Microsoft support" links at the right side of the page - that's how you can tell them your sentiments directly.

But isn't it ironic how users are stubbornly reluctant to spend $0.99 (or $0.50 for charitable purposes) for a single-time purchase and costs a lot less than one's monthly bill, but then are willing to spend hundreds (if not thousands) of times worth more cash on phones and PCs where those "extraneous" payments are encountered in the first place? Food for thought.

It's more the principle. So, now adults get an MS account for free but children have to pay, or they will be required to use an adult account and risk porn pop-ups and violent content? Sounds ageist to me, and so of questionable legality (at least in the UK). MS should just have put the charge on all accounts or on none of them. They should not have targeted children specifically. Mistake.

Parental control works just fine in Windows 8.1 with local accounts!

Having a Microsoft account for your child makes the profile ROAM though - move from PC to PC.

When they log 2 hours browsing on one and then 1 hour on another it adds up to a total of 3 hours. Perhaps a limit.

You can manage Safety settings so any device they use protects them...

At least Windows has Family Safety...

WOW, Have you really thought about this? Your child signs into any Windows 10 computer anywhere and the safety's you put in apply, and if you do not want them to have use of e-mail you can block that use, but really why would you? If you have set up your controls they should not have access to anything bad. I set up mine for my grandkids and there was no charge. Seems like a smart way to control what your kids are doing on line no matter where they are.
