Why am i experiencing problems upgrading to Windows 10?

I am using a hp laptop and i receive a notification that my device is compatible for the Windows 10 update however, only one device is incompatible that is the bluetooth audio bus device. I am able to download windows the problem arises when it is installing it always says installation failed after the computer restarts and i am left with the same Windows 8.1 version i am currently using. My question is, is it because that one device i have is incompatible that is causing problems with me upgrading?

That's a good guess. Disable all antivirus or anti-malware programs you have, uninstall anything unnecessary, clean out your hard drive, optimize your hard drive, generally prep your machine. Like washing a car before applying a new paint job.
I'd uninstall that Bluetooth device just in case.
