It's continuum without the OS or ecosystem support to drive it forward.

It's a fork of Android 6.0, with additions to provide a desktop-like UI when docked, but which will not run anything more than Android tablet apps... tablet apps that will not provide what anybody would call a desktop like experience, which is the primary feature they seem to be pushing. The only way I see that changing is if Symetium is bought up by Google after Google themselves decide to push in the direction, although I suspect Google would prefer ChromeOS for such an endeavor rather than Android.

This is a continuum-look-alike that lacks the technical foundation to make it viable. It's betrayed by the fact that the website is very light on details when it comes to explaining or showing that "desktop experience".

The devices do look pretty though.

Yes it was more about the devices. It's concept. These guys are trying to get funded on indigo. I don't think they realize how hard it is to manufacture phones. IT would be years before they were done and by then ms would likely have intel phones for a while.
