windows 10 draining laptop battery very quickly why?

Upgraded to W10 last Monday. Now I find my battery goes from 100% to 10% in less than 1 hour. I've tried some suggested fixes from other sites like turning off cortana, but nothing has helped. Does anyone have any suggestions? Windows tech service has no clue and says it is either my battery dying or my processor isn't powerful enough for W10. Thanks for any help..

Windows tech service is a complete joke when it comes to phone support. In their defense those guys do help you out when you talk about PC troubleshooting.

Rant aside, factory reset your phone from settings>about>reset. Battery life certainly becomes better for the short term , but in my experience with wp 10 things will degrade in a week or two for unknown reasons. And that also goes for general system speed and responsiveness, I have no idea why but using your phone even after a clean factory reset and with absolutely minimal amount of apps will run brilliantly for the first few days and then regress to almost unusable levels in a week or two.
