Windows Central Question

Here's the thing. My windows 10 has for some reason reverted to the features of Windows 8 without actually reverting back to Windows 8. The skin for Windows 10 is still there and it looks like Windows 10. But the start menu is going full screen like Windows 8 and now I can't access my desktop. I've checked my settings and my start menu is not supposed to be fullscreen. What can I do to put it back to normal?

Alright, there's two possibilities. Either you switched to Tablet mode, or you just checked the option for the Full screen Start.

Switch off Tablet Mode -> Settings -> System -> Tablet Mode -> Off

Non-Full screen Start -> Settings -> Personalization -> Start -> Use Start Full screen -> Off

Here are screenshots of the settings.

HXD's suggestions should do the trick. But in case you didn't know, when you're at the full start screen, just clicking on the Windows key will probably take you to the desktop. And if it doesn't, clicking Windows key + d will. (The Windows key opens and closes the start screen 'window'. When it closes it, you see whatever was behind it.)
