Lumia 920 unresponsive, please help!

My lumia 920 stopped working all of a sudden, I think it has something to do with the last W10M update. Anyway, it's not starting at all anymore.

- I tried the volume down and power button to do soft reset, and it'll vibrate but doesn't do anything.
- I've tried the recovery tool but that says it can't connect and to do the soft reset (doesn't work).
- I found the volume down + power, then volume down until you get an exclamation mark and then hit some buttons, but I never get the exclamation mark

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks, don't really feel comfortable flashing it though

/edit: after leaving it unplugged for a few hours and trying to start up again, I got some response (flickering Nokia screen) so I got a chance to do the hard reset button combination. Like I said, probably something went wrong with updating but now all seems to be working just fine
