With a previous version of Windows which I had (maybe XP?) I could move photos into a different order within a folder just by clicking and dragging. Windows 10 will not allow me to do this - the only way to reorder is to change the names of each photo so that they are in the order I want - very laborious. Is there any way round this?

Try right clicking and then 'arrange by', or something along those lines (I'm not at my computer so I don't know exactly what it says). See if that helps.

As previous commenter stated.. Right click in empty white space and select "sort by"..

Also on the toolbar within your folder, there will be a "view" option. Select it and it will give you options to sort
