Windows Central Question

I have Windows 7 activated on 2 computers. I have run the Media Creation Tool and created a USB (bootable I think) to install Windows 10. The computers have small SSD's that are almost full. I would like to first replace the SSD with a new larger one, then install Windows 10 using the USB stick that I loaded with the Media Creation Tool.

I think I have read that it is now possible to use a Win7 product key (which I have for each computer) when installing Win10. I have also read that the Media Creation Tool loads Win10-build 1511, which is not the latest. I don't know if that build will accept the Win7 product key when doing a clean install.

Can I accomplish the SSD replacement and a clean Win10 install without first installing Win7 onto the new SSD's?
