Web or software?

We have a common PC at home with just 1 local(non-Microsoft) account, and I don't wish to create another one, so obviously I can't use the built-in Windows apps(I anyway don't want them), so should I prefer [software versions of the same or alternatives(e.g. software mail clients)] or the [web versions of the same or alternatives(e.g.: webmail)]
