    you need to provide WAY more info... which update specifically? since you say update and not upgrade, i assume you are already on 10 and doing the 1511 update. MANY factors can be taken into consideration.

    was your windows 10 install a clean install or upgrade from windows 7/8?
    type of hardware?
    age of hardware?
    standard, spinning HDD or SSD?
    i could go on forever.

    i had 2 similarly spec'ed PCs and 1 took 15 minutes, the other took 2 hours.

    It depends. I upgraded to windows 10 on my desktop and laptop. It took about 30 minutes on the desktop and about 45 minutes on the laptop.
