I'm wondering what to do with Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview installed on my phone now that the final release has started to be deployed in certain countries. Should I go back to 8.1 in order for my phone to eventually upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile final release or the update will occur anyways? Anyone knows for sure? Thanks! :-)

Not at this present time, when that happens keep your eyes peeled on Windows Central as there will be an article about it.

There was an update for the Windows Insider app so you could leave the program and go straight to the latest official production.

Just a quick OT, do we even need preview for developers anymore since insider does it all now?

There isn't really a "final" for Windows 10 Mobile, whatever updates there will be will essentially be a "consumer" build along with the fast and slow we're used to seeing.

It doesn't really matter if you decide to leave the Windows Insider program or not.

Sure there is a final for W10M.

First build released to regular users is considered as final, just like we had build 10240 for PCs.

you already have the "final release" so you can just leave the insider programme and uninstall Windows Insider app if you wish so. There will soon come Redstone builds through the Insider programme and you will be on the "unstable" path again

So what you're saying, to really make sure I understand what you mean, is that If I uninstall the Windows Insider app, my phone will automatically upgrade to the version that is NOT an insider preview build when available right?

The insider app on your phone, go to the store and make sure it does not show an update available. If it does, then update. If no update shows then you have the latest build. In this build your settings have an option to leave the program.

Once you leave the program if a standard 10 is pushed out by MS or your carrier you "should" receive it. The whole point of this update was based on this.

So, leave the program and wait until you see this forum light up about the release happening in your area. Then see if it happens on your model before rolling all the way back. No need to over execute just yet.

if your build number is .36, you already have the build which goes out OTA right now (in some countries, including mine, Austria) to 8.1 phones. so the latest insider build is the same as the OTA build (or "production release" as it is called).
so if you leave the insider programme now you are on the same level as non-insiders you get the OTA update right now

You got the update now???

Where is Win10 mobile for 520s/521s. I was waiting for the 'latest' stable build.. and for months. Now no builds for the most popular windows phones. Huh, what's up with that?

What's up with what?
You also have to wait like the rest of us.
Or if you can not wait use the insider app.

i already have 10586.63 because I used the Windows Insider app.
I still don't get why people would wait for the OTA release when they wanna have the update now. There is no difference between builds just because the distribution channel is different

I hope (though I don't believe) that in case of W10M that is not true.
Maybe official update will be optimized to each model.

It is really out of the question to push global update with a software build which essentially requires update + hard reset*. Insiders are happy to do whatever it takes, but common users... No ;)

* hard reset is the first (and often only) fix presented to most glitches and errors, according to these forums
