I am merely waiting for that official announcement saying that "the 17 March rollout was it. No more supported handsets. Sorry, guys!" just so I can start looking at a new handset. With this amount of anger, MS will have to issue a statement sooner or later anyway, just like they did during WP 7.8 days. :)- Share

- So far, the wording regarding the fate of the older handsets hasn't been explicit. The conclusion drawn so far was more of an inference. One could take what was announced to mean that whatever handset was on 10586.164 Release/Slow ring won't get the RS updates, which is already known anyway.

- I have been shat upon for the last time by Microsoft. I have seen enough of the promise of W10M that I will not return to WP8.1. I was willing to endure the bugs and quirks over the past several months on my daily use 920 with the hope that they would eventually get it all sorted out, but that hope is now gone.
The battery life alone is enough to make me ditch it. I've carried extra batteries and limited use just to get through the day, but I can't keep doing this forever. Then there's the issue of apps just closing unexpectedly, things that just won't work (image search in Cortana, anyone?). My last recourse will be to try a.hard reset, as I haven't done one with the last 4 or 5 updates. But if that doesn't at least improve the battery life, MS has lost me forever as a mobile customer.
A fair number of my coworkers and I, as well as a number of my family, have all been WP users since the 7.0 days and the Samsung Focus. I'm one of the last holdouts - most of them have already jumped to iOS. I maintained that MS was finally going to get it right - boy was I duped.
I will never buy an iPhone, as Apple's business strategy disgusts me. So I guess it's hello Android. I've read a lot of positive reviews of the new Galaxy S7. It'll be nice to have apps available for once, I suppose.
Farewell, all!- Share

- Good job Microsoft, ******* off the majority of your mobile customers.
I hope all of them will leave you for other platforms and you'll soon be out of business. In the end, you deserve nothing better for your arrogant approach to your own customers.- Share

- I had Windows 10 Mobile for over three months. Since .29 version, the Glance never launched. The Camera app did not have autofocus when recording a video - I had to manually focus while recording. There were other performance issues. I hoped for a firmware update and then W10M.
The three year support promise was a lie. They tactically delayed the OS and deprived some devices of it. Support time should have been from October 2012 to October 2015. Performance excuse is not true. Given their history of "un-trustworthiness", I already suspected and they did what I feared.

- I don't think they'll not release w10m for flagship devices like L820,925,920,1020,822 and Icon also the HTC one M8, when they can run TP very well then why they can't get the same build as Official?
WTF Microsoft??
I own a 925, its working like a charm except some resuming, obviously it can't be the issue, this is not rocket science ro fix that, c'mon its the Tech Giant Microsoft.
I think there are a Second badge with those device which have 1GB and 8GB Internel, which is enough for Windows 10.
Can't say anything about 512mb ram devices. I think they should install the latest Insider build if they want to taste w10 so.- Share

- I have had a Lumia 520 since September 2013. I made a short stop to Android with an S3 shortly afterwards but I was so disappointed with the S3 I turned back quickly. After the latest news this seems the end of the road for my Lumia 520, maybe for Windows phone for me overall. I am very disappointed from the lack of apps and vision on behalf of Microsoft. They had such a good OS but failed to shape it properly. I am wondering how they think they can recover while not paying attention to the few users they have left.03-18-2016 04:58 AMLike 0
- Just to know if I understand correctly:
The listed phones in the blog article receive official W10M today, and will get redstone insider updates and after release official redstone updates. All phones which are not on the list will stay officially on W8.1 and if they use the insider preview, they get W10M with build 102586.164 and updates for this build (102586.XXX) until redstone is released.
Is this correct?
If so, could it be possible to get somehow unofficial redstone builds for this phone?03-18-2016 05:14 AMLike 0 - I don't think they'll not release w10m for flagship devices like L820,925,920,1020,822 and Icon also the HTC one M8, when they can run TP very well then why they can't get the same build as Official?

- I'm mad because of utterly false argumentation. If performance issues are reason for such short list of supported devices, first phone which should not be on this list is Lumia 950! From day one it didn't work well running windows 10. I really doubt that MS got positive feedback from 950 users.

- Nice, but you are missing a point - MS kicked from upgrade vagon large number od devices perfectly capable to handle windows 10 with explanation that S4 devices can't handle windows 10 well. I'm just saying that even 950 didn't run well when MS released it because windows 10 itself wasn't ready for daily use. So how come that people with windows 10 capable device and we with windows 10 incapable devices have same bugs? And how a reason for this bugs on my phone is that my phone isn't capable to run windows 10, but reason for your bugs is that windows 10 is imature?
And one more thing - my 950 is also fast running windows 10.- Share

First my L720 has no problems whatsoever as far as hardware performance is concerned. The display, camera, speakers, touch, everything works as good as a new device should work. Thanks to Nokia for providing such a superb build quality.
The second reason is that there is no Lumia 750 or 850 in market right now. L650 is not available in India and is on the lower side. L950 is too costly. So I will stick with L720 running Windows insider build.- Share

And don't make it based on our feedback.

- Albeit not getting the update with my 925, I understand their decision.
The journey with W10 continues, and if they have always to look to older devices which have some older chipsets, it wil hamper them.
Overall, it is a good decision, which I'm sure they didn't made lightheartedly.- Share
