I dont see any apps ported how tough is that. If microsoft couldnt themselves get it right, seeing their app support in other platforms who else is gonna bother

I watched that 13:50 mark several times. The presenter stated "we will make AVILABLE a free upgrade to Windows 10", not we will make absolutely sure Win10M works and installs on all devices running Windows 7/8 and Win Phone 8.1 without problems and it'll runs blazing faster besterest thing since sliced bread. That's just peeps assuming and hear and understanding what they want to be told.
"We will make Windows 10 available to all devices running Windows Phone 8.1". This is what he said. That is the reason why we all are so pissed. He fooled us.

The thing with the "official" OTA handsets will be that they'll be stuck with whatever build they got, until another OTA update. But as for Insiders, they'll get fixes MUCH quicker.

Funny thing is that my little 512mb Lumia 521 is rocking the slow ring build quite well. I get an occasion app crash, and it's not as speedy as 8.1 was; but really besides that, it's all gravy. :)

Re: Lumia 520, 720, 920, 1020 owners

The Lumia 435 is a dual core device, they're limiting this rollout based on the feedback people have given, not entirely because of the specs alone. I assume they want to stop wasting money refining W10M to work better on these excluded phones, even though it would benefit the entire platform.

If they can't optimize the photo app to not stutter and lag when pinching and zooming on a 1.3ghz quad core 735 (when it worked perfectly on a duel core 1ghz 620 in WP8) there's still a ton of work to do.

yes..you're absolutely right.
they are just too happy to just getting W10M working fine for not so old devices(X30 and X40 series).
they dont want there team to dig in for to do some work for older devices.
but i personally think, they would have achieved it. because at the starting of insider program they kept telling that they will release W10M for low memory devices but with less features....
but they didnt even tried....]the feedback they got was with respect to the builds good for 1GB ram and quad core processors...they didnt put any time on optimization for low memory devices.

i was holding on to L720.. beauty, believe me.
but now that it is not gonna get optimized W10M...i have to buy new phone..
off course, it will be a Windows phone.
but currently no good mid range phone is available...
i dont wanna go for SD400 phones...bcz i will be keeping that phone for 2-3 years for sure...
and upto that much time , SD400 wont be of any more good...its already old.

to be honest, they promised to provide W10M to low memory devices, but with some less features (and optimized).
and they said it...everyone knows.
so stop saying that they didnt promise.!!

The original full-line was "We will also be making AVILABLE of free upgrade to windows10 to ALL devices RUNNING windows phone 8.1". They are not limited to native 8.1 devices and not they FAIL to deliver what they annouced, simply as "make it AVILABLE to ALL device running 8.1". The rest non-sense defense for MSFT are all sophistry.

3058.50000.1424.0003 on build .164. RM-994.... Phone works pretty well. When the build released i hard reset after and being using ever since. No freezing , heating... Battery life gets me almost 2 days with medium usage. Its my daily driver too. Gives me 24 hours or so if i use alot. Mostly texting, Instagram, twitter.

Maybe you're just lucky..i have the same firmware , same rm model. Was planning to update my firmware to another one , but i don't know what should i do anymore. I faced some freezing/heating and battery problems. I don't want to stay on 8.1 :\

Guys something is happening. If you go and check for lumia denim availability and check for firmwares , you can see that they aren't there anymore, but not for all phones (1320's aren't). May be a future firmware update?
