One productivity feature I really miss from OS X is the column view in Finder. It can be a real headache to parse through root and subfolders in File Explorer without being able to see your path clearly. There are third-party programs such as UltraExplorer that allow this functionality. Is there any word of Microsoft providing a native solution in future builds?

That's not the same. Column view gives you a good feel and overview of where you are and you can switch to a different folder (above) with a single click.

I like the concept of the columns, but I really like being able to click on a file and see it in a Preview Pane; so you can tell if you have the file you are looking for. Is this ability available with the IOS? A collective combination of the two would be highly advantageous.
