It's sad to see how many people got a Windows device, were super dedicated a year ago, and are just spontaneously switching. What happened to the unity? The anticipation for a new feature? The thrill of seeking bugs, and showing MS what's right and what's not? Well, looking at the Feedback app, it's all "This doesn't work!", or "This arrow is weird-looking!" MS set up rules for us, and we are barely following them. Upvote instead of giving a new feedback every time, especially if it's on the first page (There's a More Info field for a reason!) MS never said you can't promote your feedback! Share it with the world, not just your friends, with the helpful Share Button! Have a thread here where people can post their feedback links and upvote! In conclusion, we are the new face of Windows, so if we become lazy, Windows (and MS) will get the message to become lazy! However, if we become more active in promoting and controlling feedback, Windows (and MS) will reflect that better!

idk maybe? even if they werent part of the list from the start, MS didn't want anyone to get a 512mb phone as a primary.

I think the major issue is not only the fact that many apps are not available, but that apps that are available will become abandoned on those devices that are abandoned.

Even if an iPhone or an Android doesn't get updated to the latest version of iOS or Android, the apps themselves still get updated in the App Store or Google Play. Case in point: the Mobile Nations apps.

The iMore app requires iOS 7 or newer, which means that even folks who have the iPhone 4 are able to use the very same iMore app that folks who have the iPhone 6s use.

The Android Central app requires Android 4.0.3 or newer, which means that someone who has a Samsung Galaxy SIII that was never updated is able to use the very same Android Central app as folks who have the brand new Samsung Galaxy S7.

The Windows Central app for Windows Phone 8.1 was abandoned a long time ago and will never be updated to what its Windows 10 version is like.
