Windows 10 mobile: photo added through PC showing in the wrong date

So I installed Windows 10 on my Lumia 820 and performed a reset, then I re-added my photos from a backup I made before, but when I came to the photo app, the pictures were showing all together on the same month (April 2016), the month I added them to the SD. But those pictures were taken long time before that.
Is there a way to resort my pictures back to their original date?

Check the meta data on some of the pictures bundled in that month, they might be missing hence why the O/S has clumped into the date created (added on the msd card).
